Well, my scripting has been effective... if not ideal. It's been over a year since I had attempted to build a gumstick gentoo device and I was successful. However, even starting with a stage3 uClibc-based gentoo install, it was over 600MB. I mean seriously, who need 400MB of device drivers? I will commit all my changes to the SVN on sourceforge and you can run it yourself. The only caveat is that you'll need to go in and ensure the USB drivers are compiled into the kernel(if you want a USB thumb drive deployment). You can see Part 3 of my HOWTO to tell you exactly what needs to be compiled in for USB booting.
